NYPD Officer And 6th Member Of New Jersey’s Perfume Heist Pleads Guilty To Armed Robbery

Luis Morales, a New York City Police Officer, pleaded guilty to conspiring with five other coconspirators to commit armed robbery of a perfume warehouse in New Jersey. Morales also admitted to stealing approximately $600,000 in perfume while holding 11 employees hostage at the time of the robbery.

Beginning in February 2010, Morales and his 5 other coconspirators, some of which are also local New York City Police Officers agreed to rob the In-Style USA warehouse so each can receive a payment of $2,500. Morales and the other conspirators restrained and held 11 employees hostage as the rest robbed hundreds of boxes of luxury perfume.

If convicted, Morales faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a total fine of $250,000.
